Previous: Run Through the Colorado Roster
No. 10 - Dante Sparaco
6-foot-5, 245-pounds
Outside Linebacker
Freshman
Englewood, Colo.
Cherry Creek H.S./IMG Academy
Sparaco has already been impressive since arriving at Colorado in January. He participated in spring practices after enrolling early. It's looking like he'll receive reps behind Derek McCartney at outside linebacker. Sparaco came to CU with college experience in a sense as IMG Academy was loaded with division one talent, so practicing against though types of players elevated his game.
No. 10 - Jaylon Jackson
5-foot-10, 175-pounds
Wide Receiver
Freshman
Cedar Hill, Texas
Cedar Hill H.S.
The past couple of years have been tough for Jackson, to say the least. He only played in one game as a junior in high school, and Jackson was out for his entire senior season with knee injuries occurring both seasons. During a fall camp scrimmage at Colorado, Jackson suffered an ankle injury that will knock him out for the entire season. Look for Jackson to completely heal before he hits the field again. When healthy, Jackson is an explosive athlete.
No. 9 - Juwann Winfree
6-foot-3, 210-pounds
Wide Receiver
Redshirt Junior
Englewood, N.J.
Dwight Morrow H.S./Maryland/Coffeyville C.C.
Winfree was set to have a big junior season after transferring from his junior college to Colorado, but he tore his ACL a couple of weeks before the season started. Winfree was also held out of spring practices. He's getting back into the groove of things, and he could see some targets his way this season. There's no doubt that 2018 will be his standout season as Ross, Bobo, and Fields are graduating after this fall.
No. 9 - Javier Edwards
6-foot-3, 350-pounds
Nose Tackle
Junior
Houston, Texas
Aldine Davis H.S./Blinn College
Edwards was a gem recruit in the class of 2017 for the Buffaloes. He was committed to Florida but ended up committing to the Buffaloes over Arkansas. With Josh Tupou off to the NFL, Edwards steps in at nose tackle and will make a big impact.
No. 7 - Nick Fisher
6-foot, 190-pounds
Safety
Junior
Temecula, Calif.
Great Oak H.S.
Fisher has provided depth for the Buffs' secondary since his true freshman season in 2015. He pairs up with Afolabi Laguda and Ryan Moeller in what should be a pretty good group of safeties. Fisher recorded ten tackles last season as a sophomore.
No. 7 - Tyler Lytle
6-foot-5, 205-pounds
Quarterback
Freshman
Redondo Beach, Calif.
Servite H.S.
Lytle has a very bright future. We've only been able to see him twice in a CU uniform (spring game, fall camp open scrimmage) and he's looked impressive. Montez, Noyer, and Lytle are all young quarterbacks with a lot of talent, and the Buffs are in good hands for years to come. Lytle threw for 2,759 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior in high school.
