Leading up to the start of the regular season, CUSportsNation.com will be running through the Colorado football roster in reverse order, starting with #99 Chris Mulumba and ending with #1 Shay Fields.

Today, we continue with Nos. 25-21.

(Note: The CU 2017 signees who enrolled this summer are excluded from this feature as they did not have officially assigned jersey numbers at the time that we began this series. Click here to learn more about the 2017 signees)

No. 25 - Ryan Moeller

6-foot-1, 215-pounds

Defensive Back

Redshirt Senior

Rifle, Colo.

Rifle H.S.

Moeller has certainly exceeded all expectations placed on him when he joined the Colorado football team as a walk on in 2013. He redshirted his first season, but he played in all 12 games as a redshirt freshman, including two starts. In 2015, Moeller was placed on scholarship and was a staple on defense at strong safety, but his season was cut short due to an automobile-motor bike accident. He played the "Buff backer" spot in 2016 and could play that position this year or play more in a true safety role.

No. 23 - Phillip Lindsay

5-foot-8, 190-pounds

Running Back

Redshirt Senior

Aurora, Colo.

Denver South H.S.

As a 5.5 three-star recruit that didn't have many offers out of high school, Lindsay has certainly exceeded expectations for his college career. His name is all over Colorado all-time statistics heading into his senior season. Per cubuffs.com, Lindsay is third career all-purpose yards with 4,029 (2,233 rushing, 719 receiving, 1,077 kickoff returns), 13th in rushing yards (2,233), and tied for 22nd in scoring (144 points). Lindsay will be serving his third year as a captain this season, which puts him in company with Pat Carney and Sefo Liufau as three-time CU captains. Athlon Sports has Lindsay in their first team All-Pac12 offense list, and College Football News ranks him as the No. 10 running back in the country.

No. 23 - Isaiah Lewis

6-foot, 195-pounds

Safety

True Freshman

Granite Bay, Calif.

Granite Bay H.S.

Lewis signed with Colorado in December and enrolled for the spring semester at CU. He participated in spring practices earlier this year. He was listed as the No. 4 free safety on Colorado's pre-fall "pencil" depth chart.

No. 22 - Kyle Trego

6-foot, 195-pounds

Safety

Junior

Discovery Bay, Calif.

Liberty H.S./Diablo Valley College

Trego was a junior college recruit that chose the Buffaloes back in the class of 2016. He was a full qualifier out of high school, so he was able to sign with the Buffs after just one year of JuCo ball and came to CU as a true sophomore. Last season, Trego was banged up early on in the season with injury but played on special teams to round out the season. Trego is fighting for playing time at safety.

No. 21 - Kyle Evans

5-foot-7, 175-pounds

Running Back

Redshirt Junior

San Jose, Calif.

Archbishop Mitty H.S.

Evans contributed for the Buffaloes a little bit as a redshirt freshman, but this past season is when he saw more of a role in CU's offense. He played in every game last season and ran for 346 yards (third on the team) and three touchdowns. Evans suffered a tough hip injury in the spring, but he has been recovering very quickly and could play in the first half of the 2017 season.
