This week, CUSportsNation.com is taking a look at the five most talented football players on Colorado's 2018 roster. Checking in at No. 2 is incoming grad transfer running back Travon McMillian.
MORE: No. 5 - Evan Worthington | No. 4 - Drew Lewis | No. 3 - Juwann Winfree
2017 Outlook: After a stellar redshirt freshman campaign in 2015, McMillian's workload decreased the following two seasons, as his new head coach Justin Fuente had more of a running back "by committee" approach. In 2017, the 6-foot, 210-pound running back accrued 439 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 104 carries. In his three year career for the Hokies, McMillian was very durable, playing 39 games and totaling 2,153 yards and 16 touchdowns.
2018 Projection: Well, it might have been kind of cheap to put McMillian on this roster considering that he's not officially a Buff. Once he signs his financial aid papers, the University can announce him, but he is not binded to CU until he actually enrolls in class. That shouldn't matter though as McMillian was very clear to me that he's very firm in his Colorado pledge. McMillian won't be able to practice in spring ball, but once he comes in during the summer, I expect him to get quickly acclimated to Colorado football and should be the starting tailback come September 1 against CSU. He's certainly a very talented running back.
