This week, CUSportsNation.com is taking a look at the five most talented football players on Colorado's 2018 roster. Checking in at No. 3 is senior wide receiver Juwann Winfree.

RELATED: No. 5 - Evan Worthington | No. 4 - Drew Lewis

2017 Outlook: Bryce Bobo, Shay Fields, and Devin Ross had strong junior seasons in 2016 that made them the clear starters in 2017. Jay MacIntyre also had a returning role as a slot receiver. This made it difficult for Winfree to find much of the field during the season as he had five games where he did not record a catch. Winfree had 109 receiving yards on 12 receptions through the first 10 games of the season but exploded against USC when Fields was hurt, catching five passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Winfree had four receptions for 53 yards in the season finale against Utah.

2018 Projection: If it weren't for a torn ACL during fall camp of 2016, I think he would have had a big year on "The Rise" and would have been a much bigger part of the passing offense last year. For Winfree's senior campaign, I expect him to be a focal point of the offense. He makes this list because of the very high potential he has that I expect him to tap into when given the full opportunity. Also, Darrin Chiaverini is very high on Winfree. In an interview I did with Chiaverini a couple weeks ago as well as one with him last year, the Buffs' new OC spoke very highly of Winfree, and I expect him to utilize the talented 6-foot-3, 210-pound playmaker.
