This week, CUSportsNation.com is taking a look at the five most talented football players on Colorado's 2018 roster. Checking in at No. 4 is senior linebacker Drew Lewis.
RELATED: No. 5 - Evan Worthington
2017 Outlook: Lewis was a consistent presence on the CU Buffs defense all season long, as he led the team with 119 total tackles (49 unassisted, 70 assisted) and started in all 12 games. Lewis stepped in well to fill the void that Kenneth Olugbode left at the inside linebacker position. Colorado's run defense was pretty bad in Pac-12 conference play, but Lewis had a solid season as a starter and checks in at No. 4 because of his potential to be an all Pac-12 performer this season.
2018 Projcetion: Colorado's defense has to improve in year two under D.J. Eliot, as the results of last year's team didn't cut it. As a senior, Lewis should be the leader of the defense alongside Rick Gamboa. The Buffaloes should be better up front, which will not put as much pressure on Lewis and Gamboa, freeing them up to make more tackles around the line of scrimmage. I would like to see Lewis' unassisted tackle numbers increase in 2018.
