Why was it important?
The week leading up to the Colorado and Washington State was all about preparing to stop the Cougars air raid passing attack. Here's the thing though, Colorado allowed Washington State to pass for 325 yards and three touchdowns but they only completed 26 passes out of 53 and flustered quarterback Nick Falk the entire game. Addison Gillam would seal the game with a strip sack on Falk as the Cougars were driving in the final minutes. The Cougars came to Boulder on an eight-game win streak, they gave the Buffs a run for their money but the money gang was able to make plays, including an interception from Isaiah Oliver and a big fourth down stop by Nick Fisher.
