Why was it important?
Colorado's Shay Fields had his best game of the season against Oregon State, scoring three touchdowns with 169 yards receiving. Fields and Steven Montez exploited Oregon State's secondary ultimately leading to Colorado's 41 point victory. Fields became only the fourth receiver in Colorado history to record a three-touchdown game. Fields would have all three of this touchdowns in the first half, including a bubble pass he took 63-yards to the house. The entire offense looked explosive against the Beavers as the Buffs got their first Pac-12 winning streak since joining the conference in 2011.
