Why was it important?
Colorado showed during this game how much the offensive line had improved and how much they could trust Lindsay when he ran the ball. Also, this was one of the home games this season that started to get Folsom rocking again, starting the upward trend of filling the seats that would eventually lead to the sellout against Utah. Lindsay would rush for 219 yards with three touchdowns. His big 75-yard run would be the first play of the second half and would leave the Sundevils stunned. After their loss to USC, people outside of Colorado were starting to think that maybe the Buffs weren't as good as their record suggested but with their big win over the Sundevils, they would prove everyone wrong for the rest of the season as they continued to climb in the AP Poll. This was also the first game back for quarterback Sefo Liufau after battling through an ankle injury.
