Note: We're skipping the quarterback position because Colorado is locked in with Blake Stenstrom. ... This article is our analysis of the top recruits and may not directly coincide with the Colorado's big board of recruits.
Tight end outlook: Colorado will most likely take just one tight end in the 2018 class, but if two stud recruits at the position want to be Buffs, then we believe that CU might take two. It really all depends on the timing of the commitments and where CU's numbers stand. Colorado could certainly use some help at tight end as they were sparingly used in 2016. Two of Colorado's top tight end targets are off the board as Spencer Webb committed to Oregon and McCallan Castles committed to Cal.
No. 3 - Jake Peters
Rundown: Peters was set to breakout on the recruiting front after he received an offer from Washington in May of 2016, but injuries set him back. This spring, he showed college coaches that he's back to 100% and earned offers from Hawaii, Northern Arizona, and Montana State. Peters has to be excited about those offers, but he is still looking for Power Five schools to extend an offer.
Peters covets an offer from Colorado, and he has been talking to CU coaches Gary Bernardi and Ross Els. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder visited Colorado earlier this spring.
