Your senior season at Colorado obviously didn't go as well as you would've hoped. What was your feeling after that last game against Utah?

Laguda: "Seeing the seniors go down like that after bringing life back to the program last year, we let Colorado Nation down. However, it's nothing to hang your head about. We definitely brought life back to the program and got attention back to CU. That was a good thing, but not getting to a bowl game is unacceptable for that program. I do feel like this senior class changed the culture and turned things around. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to wear that gold [helmet] one more time in St. Petersburg, Florida.

What do you think the future of Colorado is looking like right now, specifically in the secondary?

Laguda: "They're doing a good job; they'll definitely be fine. We'll reboot. Coach Mac definitely knows what he's doing out there. I put my trust in him as well as the other guys that are chasing this NFL opportunity. I think Shadon is going to have those guys right. They're going to play at an elite level. They know the standard and the tradition of the 'Money Gang.'"

What did you think of Shadon Brown in his first season as Colorado's defensive back coach?

Laguda: "Me and Shadon definitely clicked. He's from the South, and I'm from the South. I definitely related to him. He treated me like a son. I have nothing but love for Shadon. I appreciate what he did for me during my senior season."

How involved was coach MacIntyre with the defensive backs?

Laguda: "He definitely stepped in. It was like we had two DB coaches. Coach Mac was definitely pivotal in that, and it definitely doesn't hurt getting advice from your head coach. Building a relationship and a bond with him was special."

What have the past couple of months been like for you since the season ended? What have you been up to?

Laguda: "I'm down in Baton Rouge training with Ryan Clark, who was a 13-year NFL veteran. I'm just working on my technique. I plan on making a team. I don't plan on going back home, so that's what I'm doing with my time right now."

Have you put out the feelers to see what teams think about you?

Laguda: "No, I don't really care about that. I just have to play my game and go through this process. It just matters who calls your name in April. That's where my mindset is with that. Teams of course have contacted me; I've talked to multiple teams."

So you're not even worried about what the pundits are saying about your draft stock.

Laguda: "No, I play football. I play ball at the end of the day."

What are you expecting from this week at the Shrine Game?

Laguda: "I'm going to come out here and show I can cover. On [Monday], I had a couple pass break ups. It's a blessing I get to come out here."
