Meet The Colorado Football Commitments From The Class of 2017

On Thursday, December 16th Chris Mulumba committed and signed with Colorado becoming the 25th commitment from the Class of 2017.

Wednesday, December 14th ended with quite a surprise as 6-foot-2, 330 pound Javier Edwards out of Blinn Community College showed up as a commitment on the Colorado Buffaloes official twitter page.

6-foot-1, 185 pound Dante Wigley is officially a Buff. The Junior College Corner out of Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi signed his LOI to play for Colorado on Wednesday, December 14th.

Was previously committed to Ohio State, but flipped to commit to Colorado on November 17th. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive lineman is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the State of Colorado behind Michigan Commit Dylan McCaffrey. Read More On Him Here

The 6-foot-2, 250 pound Defensive End committed to Colorado on November 1st. Callier had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, among several others. His high school football team St. John Bosco is ranked No. 4 in the nation.

The former Tennessee Commitment pledged to the Buffs just days after teammate Xavier Newman did on October 18th. Nixon had tons of offers from all over the entire country and has had a monster year hauling in 35 receptions for 751-yards and 7 touchdowns. DeSoto High School in the No. 2 overall team in Texas.

The former Texas commitment flipped from a Longhorn to a Buff just days after taking an official visit to Boulder, Colorado on October 16th. Newman is an Under Armour All-American and plays for powerhouse DeSoto High School.

Wells committed to Colorado on August 2nd and though rated a two-star by Rivals.com, we feel that could change after he is further evaluated. His highlights are very impressive and he tells us he is being recruited as a middle backer.

The 6-foot-3, 212 pound linebacker out of Danville, California is somewhat under the radar, but his senior season highlights have been impressive. He's also played a lot of tight end this year. He committed to Colorado on July 30th over Arizona, Boise State, Colorado State, Nevada, Oregon State, Washington State, and Pittsburgh.

On July 26th, 2016 Allen, Texas Offensive Guard William Sherman committed to Colorado. A big time grab for the Buffs and watching his highlights, he has a shot to contribute early. He has taken some official visits to additional schools, but seems like a firm commitment to Colorado.

Morrell Osling III will likely head to Colorado as a defensive back, but he can play all over the field. This year for his high school team he has played corner, receiver, and quarterback, where he actually made quite a few plays.

The Buffs are going to have quite a few early enrollee's, one is Shamar Hamilton out of ASA JC in Miami, Florida. While he is listed as a defensive end, we've heard he could play outside backer in the future. Very good and mature enough to see the field very soon.

Polley who was just announced as an Under Armour All-American is a 3-Star prospect out of Denton, Texas who has a big future ahead of him, watch his film when you have a minute, it's incredible. Committed to Colorado back on July 11th.

Lewis is a safety/athlete out of Granite Bay, California that committed to Colorado on July 2nd, 2016. His only other offer was from Wyoming.

We recently caught up with Olver to get his thoughts on the Buffs' 2016 season. "This is why I committed to Colorado. I believe in Coach Mac & what he is doing at CU. Top 10 is a great achievement so far. I believe Colorado will be national champion contenders during most years to come. Go Buffs!"

Bell committed to Colorado on June 27th, 2016 and had a big time senior season for Murrieta Valley High School. He hauled in 60 receptions for 931-yards and caught for 7 touchdowns. Very dynamic receiver that can stretch the field and make plays.

Paige is one prospect that has a very high ceiling and we've heard that he is up to 290 pounds currently. Didn't get a lot of hype as a senior, but we're excited about his future as a Buff. He committed to Colorado on June 24th, 2016.

Committed to Colorado on June 22nd over offers from Boise State, Fresno State, Houston, Iowa, Missouri, among several others. While listed as a corner, Miller has shown during his senior year that he can play both sides of the football. Dangerous playmaker.

The 6-foot-5, 205 pound quarterback out of Anaheim, CA committed to Colorado on June 21st and will be an early enrollee in January. This past year he threw for 2,795-yards and 26 touchdowns.

This season Newman recorded over 30 tackles and 2 interceptions playing for powerhouse La Mirada in California.

Fontenot had offers from Colorado State, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, and from Purdue before committing to Colorado on June 14th. He's had a strong senior season at George Ranch accounting for more than 1,000 total yards.

Laviska Shenault was one of the first to believe in "The Rise" and committed to the Buffs way back in April 22nd, 2016. Played tight end as a senior, but does not lack speed to play receiver at the next level.

Though he's dealt with some knee injuries, his Head Coach Joey McGuire of Cedar Hill, Texas still feels he can contribute for the Buffs at a high level in the future. "He is one of the most explosive players I've ever coached. He has legit track speed. Last year in track, he was in the low 10.5s for the 100. He broke the school record in the 4x1 and 4x2. He can really run."

The second to commit to Colorado was Dante Sparaco on February 29th, 2016. A few months later Sparaco announced he was transferring to the IMG Academy in Florida and many thought it was to receive more college looks, however Sparaco has been 100% committed throughout his senior season.

On February 28th of 2016 Colorado landed their first commitment from the Class of 2017 in Jonathan Van Diest from Cherry Creek High School. The local Colorado product pledge to the Buffs over Iowa State, Lousiville, Nebraska, and Washington State. His film is outstanding, he had a great senior year, and will contribute soon for the Buffs, he is also an Under Armour All-American.
