Colorado interested in another lineman from DeSoto

DeSoto (Texas) offensive lineman Evan Henry reports two offers in his recruitment, coming from Colorado and Seton Hill, but the Buffaloes haven't been keeping in close contact with the 6-foot-3, 320-pound three-star recruit too much since the football season ended in 2017.

When Henry does talk with the CU coaching staff, he speaks with offensive coordinator Darrin Chiaverini.

"He's a great coach. He's been recruiting hard at DeSoto and actually Dallas in general," Henry said of Chiaverini. "He came to a couple of our games this season. Great coach."

Of course, Chiaverini has been recruiting DeSoto H.S. hard ever since his return to Colorado a couple years ago. The Buffs landed K.D. Nixon and LaViska Shenault in the 2017 class and added Josh Jynes in the 2018 class.

"They're getting everybody," Henry said. "I've talked to Josh about it, and he went up for their spring game not too long ago. It's nothing but good news every time I hear about Colorado. He has great stories, telling me about the team and he loves being down there in Boulder."

Henry hopes that his recruitment starts to pick up. He's been receiving interest from Princeton, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Houston, which is where he'll take his next visit on April 7 for their spring game.

College coaches will flock to DeSoto for spring ball, and Henry hopes he can put on a show for them.

"I can't wait for spring ball. I think I can get more scholarship opportunities this spring," he said.
