BOULDER-- Colorado is losing one of their best defensive players this year in Tedric Thompson, a leader, a guy that gives 100% all time and a player who wanted what's best for his team no matter what his stats were. This next guy on the countdown is just like Thompson in those fashions and with him leaving it's time to see safety Nick Fisher step up. To recap, Juwann Winfree came in at number five and N.J. Falo came in a number four.

No. 3 Nick Fisher
Fisher entering his junior year is on his way to being a great defensive back for Colorado. In 2016 he played in 12 games, eight on defense, he recorded 10 tackles on the season, five third down stops, and one pass breakup and had one crucial fourth down against Washington State. Fisher logged most of his snaps during the game against the Cougars after fellow safety Afolabi Laguda was ejected from the game due to targeting and Ryan Moeller had gone down due to injury. I will never forget after the game in the press conference, Fisher walked in and said, "I looked in Chido and Ted's eyes and I thought to myself, 'I am not going to be the reason we lose this game." Fisher is the type of player that is willing to do his one-eleven and do whatever it takes to help his team win, just like Thompson. Fisher has the possibility this season to be a starter in the secondary, I heard he is already bigger than he was last season and is working extremely hard right now in off-season workouts. In the Washington State game alone Fisher played 67 snaps, before that he only played 39 snaps, he also won Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after the Washington State game. Fisher is going to be fun to watch this season if he can stay on track and keep his same mentality of helping his team.
