Who's Leaving
Colorado is not losing too many defensive backs, but the guys they are losing will be very missed.
Tedric Thompson was an All-Pac-12 safety that started all 13 games for the Buffaloes in 2016. The Colorado coaches presented him with the team’s Dave Jones Award, which is given to the Buffs' best defensive player. Thompson led the Buffs with seven interceptions last season.
One of the more versatile defenders in recent history, Chidobe Awuzie is also graduating from Colorado. During his Colorado career, he played free and strong safety and nickel as well as some outside linebacker.
Ahkello Witherspoon was a junior college transfer that left his mark at Colorado. He was a second team All-Pac-12 cornerback and led the nation with 22 pass breakups. His lone interception on the year sealed the Buffs' win over Oregon.
