Colorado has landed a commitment from one of its cornerback targets. No not Cormani McClain, but rather someone who already has college experience. Kyndrich Breedlove has given the Buffs his pledge after two seasons at Ole Miss. The former four-star prospect played in 10 games during his two years in Oxford with nine of those appearances coming in 2021 as a freshman.
The sophomore made waves during training camp before a wrist injury forced him to miss a meaningful amount of time at an important time of the year. The end result was that he was only able to see the field in one game as a sophomore.
A majority of Breedlove's work at Ole Miss was on special teams, but he will factor into the defense for the Buffs.
The 5-foot-11 Nashville native actually entered the transfer portal twice this offseason. He originally announced his return to Ole Miss around Christmas before entering his name in once again just last Friday meaning he committed to the Buffs sight unseen.
Breedlove was a highly-targeted member of the 2021 recruiting class with offers from programs such as Georgia, Texas A&M, Baylor, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and many others before deciding to head to play for Lane Kiffin's team at Ole Miss.
He'll head to Boulder with three seasons of eligibility assuming he uses 2022 as a redshirt year.
The secondary has been in focus for Deion Sanders and the new staff at CU. This offseason the Buffs have added several players to help build up the back end of the defense highlighted by top-rated transfer Travis Hunter and Arkansas transfer safety Myles Slusher.
Overall, the CU will be bringing in four new cornerbacks, so far, with Jackson State transfer Tayvion Beasley and incoming freshman Carter Stoutmire having already signed with the Buffs in addition to Hunter and now Breedlove.
