Colorado's Ahkello Witherspoon picked by the 49ers
Make that two draft picks for Colorado in this year's draft. Ahkello Witherspoon is heading to San Francisco as they drafted him in the third round with the No. 66 pick. Witherspoon was selected six picks after his former teammate Chidobe Awuzie.
Witherspoon came to Colorado after attending Sacramento City College. He had a breakout season as a senior for the Buffs having 22 pass breakups. Witherspoon was tied for first in college football with pass breakups with his teammate and soon to be drafted, Tedric Thompson.
Witherspoon is going to be a gem of a corner for any team in te NFL, he has great length and uses that to his advantage. He trusts his eyes while defending receivers which is why he has so many pass breakups. Like Chidobe Awuzie though, he only had one interception in his senior season and only three in his career at Colorado.
