Nixon sticks with Colorado

DeSoto (Tex.) wide receiver K.D. Nixon received an offer from the Baylor Bears on December 23, and there were a lot of Buff fans that were worried that Nixon might want to stay closer to home to play his college ball.

Things seemed to take a turn for the worse after Nixon's high school teammate, Xavier Newman, flipped his commitment from Colorado to Baylor.

Nixon and Newman visited Baylor together last weekend, and when Nixon posted on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon that he had news to announce later that night, it seemed like he was ready to announce a flip.

However, the Buffs had an ace in the hole, and that is ace recruiter and Co-OC Darrin Chiaverini.

Coach Chev was in Desoto on Wednesday to close out the gifted four-star prospect's recruitment.

Also playing in CU's favor is that Nixon's other teammate, Laviska Shenault, never wavered in his commitment to the Buffs. He told CUSportsNation.com in this story that he was solid with CU and that he would try to keep Nixon solid with the Buffs.
