Colorado Football Signee: Hasaan Hypolite

The Buffaloes officially added a playmaker to their secondary with Missouri City (Texas) Hightower safety Hasaan Hypolite inking with CU. There was late drama as Hypolite posted on Twitter that he’d be waiting until February to sign, but after speaking with the CU staff on Thursday, Hypolite decided to sign early. The 6-foot, 205-pound three-star recruit committed to Colorado on October 7, choosing the Buffaloes over CSU, Houston, Texas Tech, and several other FBS schools. He was originally going to commit to a school in August, but the threats of Hurricane Harvey caused Hypolite to delay his decision. Hypolite officially visited Colorado on September 23 for the Washington game, and that visit ultimately put the Buffs on top.

Quotable: "We could be talking about Hypolite as a more high-profile prospect than he is at the moment if he would have embraced his future as a defensive back sooner," Rivals.com state of Texas recruiting analyst Nick Krueger said. "The first time that I saw him he struck me as a safety playing wide receiver. I thought that his tape last fall looked good in his first full-time go at the position, but he didn't participate in many events this offseason to try and show off his progress.
