THE COMMITMENT

Stanley has been on Colorado's radar for at least a year, and the Buffs made things serious when they extended an offer to Stanley during their junior day event in February.

Colorado was the fourth school to offer Stanley, with Iowa State, Louisville, and Colorado State previously offering the 6-foot, 175-pounder.

Utah State, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, Indiana, Arizona State, Cal, Utah, and Kansas State also extended offers to Stanley, but it was the in-state Buffaloes won out for Stanley.

The 2018 three-star recruit took visits to Nebraska, Iowa State, Louisville, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado State, and Colorado in the past few months.

Stanley picked the Buffs on Saturday evening on 9News. He is following the footsteps of his father, Walter Stanley, who played for Colorado for two years and ended up transferring to Colorado Mesa. The elder Stanley was a fourth round draft pick in the 1985 NFL Draft and played in the NFL for seven years for five different teams.

Stanley caught 65 passes for 970 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior and also had two rushing touchdowns.
