After knocking off in-state rival Colorado State, the Buffaloes host Sun Belt opponent Texas State on Saturday at 12:00 pm MT.

CUSportsNation.com looks at five questions we have heading into Saturday's ball game.

1. Will the offense put up big numbers?

Colorado's high flying offense was outgained by the Colorado State offense last week, 397-345. That is not a statistic that leaves Colorado fans smiling.

But the Buffaloes did show a jolt of firepower early on in the game as they jumped out to a 17-0 lead. The offense was stagnant in the second half, but with such proven players at receiver, running back, and on the offensive line, and even a somewhat proven commodity in quarterback Steven Montez, the Buffs should have no problem bouncing back in a big way this Saturday - and for the rest of the season.

This Texas State team gave up 40 points in eight of their 12 games last season on their way to a 2-10 season. The Bobcats narrowly escaped with a victory against Houston Baptist of the FCS Southland Conference, 20-11, this past Saturday.

2. Will Colorado put Texas State away early?

We saw a lot of college football teams playing down to the competition of their opponents over the weekend, so it's very important that the Buffs come out with fire rather than sleepwalking.

Senior leader Phillip Lindsay vows to not take this Bobcats' team lightly.

"We’re just going to play ball and not worry about who we're playing," Lindsay said. “We learned that a lot time ago. You don't look at the decal on the helmet and say, ‘Look who we’re playing,’ because everyone is capable of making plays. They (Texas State) have some talented players on their team and they have a talented quarterback."

The longer the Buffs keep Texas State around in the game, the more worrisome the Colorado fan base will grow with Washington coming to Boulder in just a couple of weeks.

3. Can Javier Edwards make a big impact?

Edwards' first game in a Buffs' uniform wasn't bad but it wasn't great. He finished with two solo tackles and an assisted tackle.

But Edwards had all eyes on him as his first game was highly anticipated. The 6-foot-3, 350-pound junior college transfer was the gem of Colorado's 2017 recruiting class and was truly a "plug-and-play" JuCo recruit.

All eyes will once again be on the big man on Saturday, and against Texas State, Edwards should be able to eat up double teams and dominate.

4. Will Jeromy Irwin, Frank Umu, and George Frazier return to the lineup?

It was shocking to not see Jeromy Irwin and George Frazier, who are both captains for the Colorado football team, suspended for the season opener. Defensive end Frank Umu was suspended for the opener and news broke of that a few days before the game.

Details are hard to come by in terms of whether or not we will see these guys play on Saturday - at least as of Wednesday morning.

5. Will we see Sam Noyer?

Or in other words - will Colorado blow out Texas State?

Colorado opened as a 34.5 point favorite according to Oddshark.com, and the line according to some websites has moved to up to having CU has a 36 point favorite.

The Buffaloes should have absolutely no problem blowing out Texas State. Winning by 30+ is expected, but the Buffaloes need to come out ready.
