Colorado's commitment list grew to 16 on Saturday as Buhach (Calif.) Colony defensive back Lavon "LJ" Wallace committed to the Buffaloes while in Boulder.

"I picked the Buffs because that was the best school for me," Wallace told CUSportsNation.com. "I felt comfortable there. The coaches showed me love. My mom wanted me to go there too because she felt comfortable about what was going on over there.

"Plus, I know they have good facilities and good coaches. They had [defensive backs] recently get drafted. I know I'll get coached up good if I go there."

Wallace arrived in Boulder on Friday and got the full experience on of campus on Saturday.

"They pretty much walked me through everything," Wallace said. "We watched the whole practice, and I got to know the players. I got to meet every coach. We went into coach MacIntyre's office and talked, and that's when I committed.

"[MacIntyre] was just telling me that they need me, and I can play a big part on their team."

Wallace is the fourth defensive back commitment for the Buffs' 2018 class, joining Ray Robinson, Delrick Abrams, and Kahlef Hailassie. A factor in Wallace committing to the Buffs was that Hailassee, who is Wallace's good friend, is committed to the Buffs.

It's unclear at the moment what position Wallace will play in a CU uniform, but that's not a bad thing. Wallace has the versatility to play multiple positions.

"I'm pretty much playing every position - receiver, corner, safety, nickel," Wallace explained. " =They recruited me as a corner, but if they need me in different spots, that's where they'll put me."

What does Wallace want Colorado fans to know about him?

"Just know that I'm going to do whatever it takes to get my team to win," he answered. "I'm a team player. I'm also going to focus on my game to do what it takes to get to the next level."
