Brown as a recruit

Brown took an official visit to Colorado back when he was a recruit in the class of 2015. He was also highly pursued by UCLA, USC, and Nebraska, but the playmaker from La Mirada (Calif.) chose Texas Tech.

The coach that recruited him to play in Lubbock? Darrin Chiaverini, who is of course Colorado's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Brown was rated as a 5.7 three-star prospect and was the No. 67 overall receiver recruit in the country.

Below are Brown's senior highlights

Brown's time at Texas Tech

Brown didn't have an overly productive time in his two years at Texas Tech. He scored just one touchdown for the Red Raiders.

His freshman year statistics were 14 catches for 250 yards and a touchdown. As a sophomore, he played in 11 games and caught 13 passes for 128 yards.

There were no off the field issues for Brown. He just wasn't consistently getting on the field. There were too many other wide receivers in the Texas Tech rotation, and the younger Brown was a bit left out.
