Texas athlete joins Colorados commitment list

While Trey Udoffia verbally committed to the Buffaloes during his unofficial visit to Colorado over the weekend, Humble (Texas) Atascocita athlete prospect Patrick Taylor Jr. wanted to return home from Boulder and sleep on it before making the call.
After a good night's sleep, and the morning to ponder, Taylor Jr. called up Buffs head coach Mike MacIntyre and joined Colorado's growing commitment list for the Class of 2016.

Extremely blessed and honored to announce that I've committed to The University of Colorado!! #CUin16 #Gobuffs pic.twitter.com/CO5VufHBYK- Patrick Taylor Jr (@__SwaggyP6) August 3, 2015"What sold me on the Buffs was the bond that their coaches and players have with each other," Taylor Jr. told BuffStampede.com on Monday afternoon. "I like what they are building in terms of both the facilities and what they are building in terms of their football program.
"After seeing it all first hand, I am buying into the fact that the program is really turning around and has a bright future ahead. I wanted to be part of their rebuilding efforts and be a part of why they turn things around."
Taylor Jr. had other offers from Colorado State, Louisiana Lafayette, Nicholls State, North Texas, Texas State and UTSA. He is commitment No. 7 for the Buffaloes, who only have nine scholarshiped seniors on the roster for the 2015 season.
"It is like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders," Taylor Jr. said. "Now I can just worry about my senior year. I liked Colorado State and Louisiana Lafayette as well, but Colorado is where I belong. ... [CU head] coach [Mike] MacIntyre was really excited when I committed. He said I made his day."
Colorado offered Taylor Jr. back in June after he shined at the Buffaloes' satellite camp in the Houston area. He accounted for 849 yards and nine touchdowns as a running back last season and impressed the Buffs' coaches will working as a linebacker at the camp.
"Wherever I could get on the field to play for them is where I want to play," Taylor Jr. said when asked what position he expects to play for the Buffaloes. "I am willing to work hard and willing to do anything possible to get on the field."
"Colorado likes that I am a big athlete," he added. "They also liked my ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and my quickness in and out of cuts."
