Colorado's most recent commitment comes from Cherry Creek H.S. with talented, do-it-all wide receiver Dimitri Stanley announcing his intentions to play for the Buffs last Saturday.

Stanley's recruitment blew up during the spring with schools from the Pac-12 and other Power Five conferences coming after him, but Stanley opted to stay in-state with the Buffs.

"I sat down with my parents, and we had a long discussion about it," Stanley told CUSportsNation.com. "My top four was Colorado, Arizona State, Utah, and CSU. It came down pretty close, but Colorado is just a beautiful place. I can see myself there for four years. It also came down to opportunity to play early. I'll have a chance to play, possibly start, as a true freshman at Colorado. The atmosphere, being around the coaches, and being around the players at Colorado just felt good and like it was the right place for me."

Stanley gave the news to his future coaches just shortly before he announced the news to the nation.

"I called coach Chiaverini and coach Mac, and I told them on the drive to 9News station," Stanley said. "I made them wait it out a little bit. I had to keep them guessing. I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

"Coach Chiaverini was really excited. He said that he had been waiting for me for a long time, so he was happy and excited to hear that I finally made the decision to become a Buff. Coach Mac was also really excited and ready to get this thing rolling."

Stanley caught 65 passes for 970 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior and also had two rushing touchdowns. He expects to make the same time of big plays in a Colorado uniform in 2018.

"I can honestly see myself playing the same positions I do right now in high school," Stanley explained. "I can see myself returning kicks for them, returning punts for them, being outside at the receiver position, and inside running slot receiver. I can see myself doing all of that for the Buffs."

Stanley's father is the great Walter Stanley, who played two electrifying seasons at Colorado and played several seasons in the NFL.

"When we got down to it and I decided to be a Buff, he was pretty excited," Stanley said. "All of his buddies that he went to CU with were also really excited and hit me up right after they saw my commitment."

Will Stanley be solid in his commitment or will he look at other schools? The answer to that question is still up in the air because he's not focused on his recruitment right now. Stanley's gaze is set on his senior season.

"I really don't know at this point," he said. "You only get to go through this process one time, so I think I'm stick with it for right now and focus on getting better for my football season."
