With the hiring of DJ Eliot as Colorado's defensive coordinator, I know there are a lot of mixed emotions on the message board here. I wanted to get intel from someone who knows Eliot best and that's Justin Rowland, the publisher of CatsIllustrated.com on the Rivals.com network.
Rowland doesn't think Eliot deserves the negative reputation that he's been receiving from Kentucky fans that are excited that he's leaving.
"D.J. Eliot earned a reputation as a quality coach and recruiter when he was the defensive line coach at Florida State under Jimbo Fisher," Rowland said. "It wasn't a surprise when he followed Mark Stoops to Kentucky as his defensive coordinator because of their 20-year friendship.
