Strong quarterback play can cover up some weaknesses for an offense. Certain guys do have the ability to take over a game from that position. But the most reliable way to have a strong offensive unit is to start with good offensive line play.
Colorado is losing three starters from last years offensive line. Despite that, the coaches and players believe they have what it takes to improve on last season.
"I think mentally it's a good group. They know how to compete. I like the way that they work. We're a long ways away from where we want to be so it's kind of a moment by moment thing," explained offensive line coach Klayton Adams. "Just trying to make sure we're taking advantage of every second we can to improve and be able to help the team because ultimately if we play at a high level the team plays at a high level."
"There's a lot of promise with our group. We have a long way to go, but we've made some strides the past two days in pads," senior Josh Kaiser continued. "We got young guys like Casey Roddick coming up. Will Sherman. They're all great players. They're giving it their best effort right now."
