First day fun
Mike MacIntyre started his post-practice press conference after day one of spring camp lamenting the fact that his team had to spend the morning indoors. He quickly shifted his focus to the positives, however.
"I thought we had a good day. First day. Flying around out there. Thought it went well," said the head coach of the Buffs.
"It was a lot of fun watching them play," MacIntyre continued. "Running plays and running around. It was fun for coaches and all of us."
Spring camp is generally full of optimism. Each college program inevitably feels their off-season workouts and recruiting are the best they have ever been. That optimism results in more fun for players and coaches.
New defensive line coach Kwahn Drake took the fun a step further using it as a coachable moment.
"I always tell the guys the first reason they started playing football is f-u-n. Fun," he said. "So we're going to try and have fun."
