Under the sun for a 50-50 Day

The Colorado football team got to play outside for the first time during spring camp. They also got to throw each other to the ground for the first time.

Mike MacIntyre addressed the media following Wednesday's practice and answered questions on a number of topics. He started by expressing his pleasure with being outside late in the winter, however.

"We got outside. It was gorgeous out there today," said MacIntyre.

"Today was the first time with some full speed tackling. Going to the ground. That type of thing," he continued. "They had fun doing it. We'll go watch the film and look at it. Like always there was some good things on both sides. We got to look at some individuals and see how they did their first time out there in it."

Offensive line working to perfect the basics

As MacIntyre has mentioned a couple of times, the spring is when coaches like to experiment with lineups and it is also a great time to drill home some fundamentals.

The Buffs have had a chance to do both along the offensive line early in spring camp. With players out due to injuries and some newcomers yet to arrive, each day is an opportunity for a current player to show something new to the coaches.

Even if that is just being consistent and perfecting the simple tasks.

"Every day we do center quarterback exchange. Every single day. Under center. In the gun. Different cadences. Different centers. Different things all the time," MacIntyre explained. "We switch the centers and the guards during practice at physical time because that's when you want to see it. We switch those guys to make sure there is good snap exchange."

CUSportsNation will have more on the offensive line from Klayton Adams and Josh Kaiser in the coming days. Make sure to check back for that.
