The first commitment of the Mel Tucker era in Boulder is Austin Williams, a 6-foot-4, 306-pound defensive lineman from Tifton (Ga.) Tifty County H.S.
Williams officially visited Colorado this weekend and came away very impressed with CU. He had been committed to Colorado State for just a little over a week, but now he's a Buffs pledge.
"To keep it short, I would like to (announce) that I am decommitting from Colorado State University and and I'll be committing to the University of Colorado #GoBuffs," Williams' tweet says.
Colorado's commitment list is very fluid right now, but as things stand, Williams is commitment No. 14 and joins Na'im Rodman as Colorado's defensive line commitments in the 2019 class. Williams is a two-way lineman so he could play interior defensive line or offensive guard at the next level.
Over the course of his recruitment, Williams also held offers from the likes of Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, UCF, and USF.
