Colorado 2017 athlete signee Sebastian Olver's career as a Buffalo ended before it really ever started.

Olver arrived in Boulder this summer after finally receiving his visa. Shortly after fall camp started, Olver abruptly left Boulder, and the reasons are unclear. We expect that Olver was homesick or something along those lines.

Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre was asked today about Olver leaving the program, and he noted that the door has been closed in terms of Olver ever returning to Colorado.

"It's very disappointing," MacIntyre said. "We worked really extremely hard with him. We had to jump through a lot of hoops for Australia to come over here. It's extremely disappointing.

"I think it's a huge mistake on his part, but kids make choices, and now he's got to live with it. We'll move on.

"He just left. That's all I can say. It's really kind of bizarre. I wish him the very best, but it was disappointing that he left."

Olver was a scholarship athlete for the Buffaloes, and CU is putting in a waiver to get Olver's scholarship number back so that they can award it to a walk on player.

"One of the guys out here deserve to get that scholarship," MacIntyre said.
