Original story on Sunday evening: After taking official visits to Colorado and Arizona, Marrero (La.) John Ehret safety prospect Jarrius Wallace is on the verge of making his college decision.

“My decision will probably come down to what school fits me best outside of football, like academically and how I see myself doing there,” said Jarrius Wallace, who stands 6-foot-1, 170-pounds.

“It isn't fun anymore,” he added in regards to the recruiting process. “It is serious now. This is a big life decision. It is kind of stressful.”

Wallace said his time in Tucson this weekend “was nice.” He is scheduled to host an in-home visit with Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez and three Arizona assistants on Monday.

“They have a lot of good things going on with their program,” Wallace said of Arizona. “They are established and doing nice things. They won a nice bowl game and their facilities are nice. I liked the coaches, too. They are very cool.”

Wallace has hosted multiple in-home visits with safeties coach Joe Tumpkin, who is responsible for his recruitment from the Buffaloes' staff. He visited Boulder last weekend.

“If I went to Colorado, I feel like I would be part of something special. They are rebuilding and getting their program back to where it needs to be,” Wallace recently told BuffStampede.com. “And education wise, they offer a lot. My trip there was better than I expected it to be. They have very nice facilities and the people out there are great. I liked the environment a lot.”

Wallace's best friend and teammate Ca'Ron Baham verbally committed to the Buffaloes last week. What has Baham had to tell Wallace since then?

“He just wants me to make the decision that is best for me. Of course he wants me to come with him to Colorado so that we can be together,” Wallace said. “He knows the decision I make has to be what is best for my future since we are two different people.”

Wallace earned first-team all-district and all-metro honors as a safety after recording roughly 40 tackles, seven interceptions and one forced fumble during his senior campaign. He helped John Ehret to a district title and an appearance in the 5A state championship game.

When will Wallace announce his college decision?

“It is going to be very soon. I do know that,” he answered.
