In 2016, N.J. Falo was suspended from the CU Buffs' football team after being arrested, and this past summer, Falo was dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

Falo received a third chance from head coach Mike MacIntyre and is doing well this spring. He is going by his full name of Nu'umoto, his father's name, rather than just N.J.

"Nu'umoto has done really well," MacIntyre said. "He's competing out there, and he's in really good shape too. I was a little concerned coming back off of being out for a little while, but he's in really good shape. Coach Wilson did a good job with him in the offseason."

In 11 games played in 2016, Falo showed flashes that he could be a strong player down the road, recording 13 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble as he played as a reserve.
