When Mel Tucker was officially hired on December 5, 2018, the focus was to quickly assemble the 2019 class.

Once the Buffs signed 17 recruits on December 19, Tucker and his coaching staff started recruiting in the 2020 class. They quite literally got to offering several underclassmen recruits right away, as several offers went out within 24 hours of National Signing Day.
