CU flips four-star DB Myles Slusher to highlight latest wave of transfers

Myles Slusher was already announced as a member of Louisville's 2023 class as a transfer after picking the Cardinals upon transferring from Arkansas. However, transfers do not become official until players are enrolled and sitting in a class since they only sign grant-in-aid paperwork and not binding National Letters of Intent like their high school and junior college counterparts.

So, Colorado made one last late push for the four-star transfer prospect this weekend by getting him on a visit to Boulder during the short midyear transfer visit window that ends Sunday.

Slusher announced his commitment to the Buffs on Sunday sealing his decision and giving head coach Deion Sanders and the CU staff their second highest-rated offseason transfer addition behind only No. 1-ranked player Travis Hunter.

The Arkansas safety, who is ranked No. 31 among all transfer players by Rivals, will join the Buffs with two more seasons of eligibility. Through his first three seasons with the Razorbacks, Slusher collected 93 tackles (60 solo), 9 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 7 passes defensed, 2 interceptions and a forced fumble.

In 2022, he six starts and had 28 tackles and a career-high 5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.

The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native was a four-star prospect as a high school recruit in the 2020 class with offers from programs such as Alabama, Notre Dame, LSU, Oregon, Texas, UCLA and Michigan among many others. CU offered him as a high school recruit as well.

Slusher is the third top-100 transfer addition for the Buffs so far this offseason joining Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders (Jackson State), who is rated No. 99 overall by Rivals.

Florida offensive lineman makes the call for CU

Slusher highlighted Sunday's additions for the the Buffs, but it started with another important pickup for the Colorado staff when Florida offensive lineman Yousef Mugharbil gave the coaches his commitment after a weekend visit to Boulder.

The second-year freshman has not yet seen the field in his college career after needing time to work his way back from injury as a freshman in 2021. Mugharbil suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was dragged close to 100 feet by a semi-truck while on a scooter ahead of his freshman year in Gainesville.

He ultimately returned to the practice field late in the season but could never crack the rotation.

Mugharbil, who is from Murphy, North Carolina, was rated as a high three-star prospect out of Murphy High School in the 2021 class. He ultimately added offers from programs such as Tennessee, Penn State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Louisville, Illinois and West Virginia among many others.

He is the seventh offensive lineman the staff has added since its arrival. Mugharbil will have three seasons of eligibility at CU.

Buffs add key specialists for 2023

Sanders and the new CU staff have not forgotten about adding specialists to the program this offseason, and a pair of potentially important players at key positions were added in recent days. Arizona State transfer Jace Feely was added to the mix after two seasons in Tempe while long snapper and fourth-team FCS All-American Jacob Politte announced his decision to follow the staff to CU from Jackson State on Saturday.

Feely, who is the son of former longtime NFL kicker Jay Feely, served as a backup for the Sun Devils in the 2022 season. He didn't attempt any field goals last season but did kickoff four times (with two touchbacks) in addition to making his only extra point attempt. The Gilbert, Arizona native was also asked to punt one time while at ASU.

He will have three seasons of eligibility with the Buffs. Feely joins JSU transfer Alejandro Mata as the second kicker to be added to the CU roster this offseason. Starting Colorado kicker Cole Becker recently announced his plans to transfer to Utah.

Politte is another player with connections to Sanders through JSU where he was the primary long snapper during the 2022 season. The Lubbock, Texas native will have three years of eligibility with the Buffs.
