Yeah, it was that big. For a program that has not had a winning season since 2005, the route over a rival has set the tone for the season. Many fans and national writers have dubbed this season: Bowl or Bust for Colorado. Is that really the case?
Does Colorado really need to get to a bowl to prove they’ve arrived under MacIntyre? That’s debatable, but what is not debatable is that Colorado is the team we thought they were going to be in the preseason having returned nearly 20 starters with playing experience.
Maybe Colorado State is terrible, maybe they’re not, and if Colorado rolls right past Idaho State in their home opener next Saturday at Folsom Field, will skeptics of this team’s early season success question their strength of competition? Likely.
However both sides of the football looked as good as any other team from the PAC 12 that played this weekend, the defense started out the game with six three and outs and the offense rolled up 253-yards by half and finished with 578-yards of total offense.
The first big test no question about it for Colorado is going to be against Michigan on September 17th at the Big House. McIntyre going head to head against Jim Harbaugh and company, this past weekend Michigan who is currently ranked No. 7 in the country looked ferocious in their 63-3 victory over Hawaii.

Is winning that game for Colorado realistic? Of course and even if they are unable to come away with a victory, national viewers and college football writers are going to be gauging Colorado’s true colors based off this game, that seems acceptable.
For now, Colorado has to focus on the next team in front of them, that’s been their mantra throughout the summer and if you’re in the area, go watch these guys during their home opener next weekend, you’ll be blown away with the talent on the field.
