Colorado has 18 commitments in their 2018 recruiting class and have limited spots left to fill. By offering Tucson (Ariz.) Pima C.C. safety Aaron Maddox, it appears that the Buffaloes want immediate help in the secondary.

Maddox is similar to what Colorado got in last year's class in Kevin George, who was a full-qualifier out of high school, so he could leave his JuCo after one season and enrolled at Colorado as a true sophomore. It's the same case for Maddox, who will be leaving Pima in December to enroll at his next division one school for the spring semester.

The First Team All-State DB 2016 South Carolina was committed to Western Carolina in the class of 2017, but just before he was set to report to enroll, he decided to take the junior college route to fulfill his dreams of playing big time college football.

And he seems to be close to that dream as he received an offer from the Colorado Buffaloes. CU offered him last Thursday.

"The head coach [Mike MacIntyre] called me and offered me a full ride," Maddox said. "I've been keeping in contact with the DB's coach Shadon Brown throughout the season and constantly updating him week-by-week on my play throughout the season."

Maddox's relationship with Maddox goes way back. From 2011-2015, Brown was a defensive backs coach for Wofford College and recruited Maddox.

"I love coach Brown," Maddox said. "He actually recruited me in high school."

Maddox plans to officially visit Colorado in November.

"I'm in the middle of setting up a Colorado official visit, and Southeastern [Louisiana] invited me on one, but I haven't decided whether I'm going to take it or not. Mississippi State said they're gonna get to me this week about a visit."

Maddox isn't very familiar with Colorado yet but noted that his older brother previously attended Air Force, so Maddox knows how superb the weather can be in the state.

He holds two offers from Colorado and Southeastern Louisiana, and Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Temple have expressed interest.
