Boulder, Colorado - The No. 22 ranked Washington State Cougars took on No. 10 Colorado in a PAC 12 Showdown in front of nearly 48,658 at Folsom Field.

1st Quarter Recap
Colorado’s defense opened the game forcing Washington State Quarterback Luke Falk to go 0-3 and forced the Cougars to punt. The Buffs on their first series drove down the field with a very impressive 12 play 81-yard drive capped off by a Phillip Lindsay 9-yard touchdown run to put Colorado up 7-0 with 10:40 in the 1st quarter.
The Cougars on their second possession drove right down the field and punched it in for a touchdown when Falk hit Robert Lewis for a 14-yard touchdown pass. The key play for the Cougars was a 32-yard run by Jamal Morrow who sliced up the field to set the Cougars up in scoring position. On the touchdown, Colorado’s Safety Afolabi Laguda was called for targeting and ejected from the game.
Tied at 7 all with 7:27 left in the quarter, Colorado’s second possession of the game would result in a fumble as Phillip Lindsay lost the football off a toss from Quarterback Sefo Liufau. Washington State with great field position at Colorado’s 40-yard line would miss a field goal, when kicker Eric Powell would shank a 51-yard attempt with 5:31 in the first quarter.
The Buffs third possession of the quarter would result in a turnover on downs when Liufau was unable to connect with a receiver on a 4th and short. With 3:02 to play Washington State would score with a lightning quick 3 play 72-yard touchdown when Falk threw a beautiful touchdown pass to running back Jamal Morrow that went for 46-yards as the Cougars took a 14-7 lead going into the 2nd quarter.
2nd Quarter Recap
Colorado would open up the 2nd quarter with a punt. Washington State leading by a touchdown would be unable to convert a 4th and 7 and would turn the football over on downs. Buffs down 14-7 with 10:11 in the second quarter would drive down the field on a 10 play 74-yard scoring drive, Quarterback Sefo Liufau scored off a 3-yard touchdown run to make it 14 all with 7:35 left before half.
The Cougars and Quarterback Luke Falk who was 10 of 24 passing for 198-yards and 2 touchdowns at this point would tack on a field goal when Erik Powell would hit a 28-yard field goal with 4:23 before half to make it 17-14 Washington State.
Unable to establish a first down, the Buffs would punt to the Cougars with 3:12 before halftime. Washington State back on the field would punt to Colorado, the punt would go for 1 yard, setting up the Buffs is great field position with under a minute before half.
Colorado receiver Kabion Ento would drop a sure touchdown pass, then Freshman Kicker Davis Price would miss a 38-yard field goal which would make it Washington State 17, Colorado 14 at the half.
3rd Quarter Recap
Colorado would have possession to start the 2nd half and would drive right down the field and put a touchdown on the board. A 7-yard touchdown run by Sefo Liufau put Colorado up 21-17 with 11:06 in the 3rd Quarter. Down by 4 points, Washington State would have to punt and the Buffs with plenty of momentum on their side would turn the football over on a turnover on downs when Liufau hit Devin Ross for 5-yards, when a first down was 7-yards.
With 5:43 in the 3rd quarter Washington State would try to get a drive going and did just that going 67-yards in 7 plays with Falk hitting John Thompson for a 7-yard touchdown. The key play of the drive was a 30-yard rush by Cougar Running Back Jamal Morrow on a 4th and 1.
With Washington State leading 24-21 with 3:18, Colorado’s offense kept fighting and it would be a 8 play 75-yard scoring driving with Liufau scoring his third rushing touchdown of the game, this time from 11-yards out to make it Colorado 28-24 with 30 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. At this point in the game Washington State’s offense had 408-yards of offense, Colorado had 472-yards, and there had been four lead changes.
4th Quarter Recap
The Cougars would open up the 4th quarter with a 7 play drive drive ending in the red-zone when Washington State was stopped by Colorado on a 4th and short. The Buffs took over with 12:31 at their own 16-yard line.
The Buffs would drive to the 32-yard line before Liufau went down with an undisclosed injury. In stepped RS-Freshman Steven Montez and the Buffs would hit a 45-yard field goal. Kicker Chris Graham in for Davis Price hit a clutch late game field goal to make it 31-24 with 9:09 left in the game. Washington State would stall out and have to punt the football back to Colorado with 8:24 left in the game.
The Buffs with momentum and a massive crowd on their side would score off a 12 play 81-yard scoring drive, when Running Back Phillip Lindsay powered his way into the end-zone from 13-yards out to make it Colorado 38-24 with 4:18 left in the game. On the Cougar’s ensuing possession, Colorado Linebacker Jimmie Gilbert got to Luke Falk and forced a fumble, which the Buffs would recover. The turnover would move Colorado’s consecutive streak of forcing a turnover in a game to 24 in a row, which leads the nation. The Buffs would end the game on a Tedric Thompson interception.
