On Wednesday, Redlands (Calif.) East Valley athlete Isaiah Bradford announced on Twitter that he landed his first scholarship offer. It came from the Colorado Buffaloes.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound class of 2020 prospect says he didn't see it coming.

"Yeah it was a surprise," Bradford said. "It happened out of nowhere. It was my first time talking to them. I wasn't expecting to get an offer so fast. It was very shocking, but it relieved a lot off my shoulders ... After the offer, my coach told me that he said good things about me to (Colorado)."

Bradford received the offer from Buffs wide receivers coach Darrin Chiaverini over the phone.

"He's a cool guy," Bradford said of Chiaverini. "He really showed interest in me. He knew that this offer would help me with other colleges too."

At this point in time, Bradford isn't too familiar with the CU Buffs. He knows about a couple of top recruits that CU landed in the 2018 class in Southern California in Mark Perry and Braedin Huffman-Dixon.

"Yeah I watched a few [Colorado] games on TV," added Bradford.

The Buffs hope to get Bradford on campus soon.

"I talked to the defensive coordinator from Colorado on (Friday)," Bradford said. "He wants me to get out there to build a relationship with them. I'm going to have to plan a trip there."

Cal is showing interest in Bradford, and Washington wants him to visit campus.

Bradford is mainly being recruited as a defensive back.
