Today, the PAC 12 Conference announced that in his fourth year as Head Colorado Football Coach Mike MacIntyre has been named Conference Coach of the Year.

Just one season ago in 2015, the Buffs were 1-8 in conference and through his first three seasons in Conference play, MacIntyre’s record against conference opponents was 2-25. This Year, Colorado has won 10 games and won the PAC 12 South with a record of 8-1.

This coming weekend the 9th ranked Buffaloes will take on the No. 4 ranked Washington Huskies 11-1 in the PAC 12 Championship Game, which will take place Friday Night, December 2nd at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game which starts at 7PM MST can be viewed nationally on FOX.

MacIntyre At The Press Conference On Tuesday

"These young men and how well they have played and bought into everything we have asked them to do, our coaching staff has done a phenomenal job with them and all our auxiliary people, everybody that touches our young men have had an absolute pride and commitment to us being successful, from our trainers, our strength staff, our equipment managers, our football ops, everybody has done so much to propel our young men and instilled confidence in them and belief and that's what happened. I'm just fortunate to wear head coach in front of my name and just go along with the ride so it's pretty special."

From The Ground Up

Colorado’s football program has been the doormat of the Conference since joining the PAC 12 in 2011 with a combined record of 5-40. MacIntyre’s four-year program growth has been quite incredible. The Buffs were 4-8 in 2013, 2-10 in 2014, and 4-9 in 2015.

What really stands out when you look deeper into the program at Colorado is MacIntyre is winning with prospects he recruited 4 seasons ago when he took over. Most of the prospects that are up for post-season honors have been with MacIntyre every step of the way.

Chidobe Awuzie at corner who some predict as an NFL first-round draft pick has been at Colorado from the start, same with three-year starting Quarterback Sefo Liufau who just won the Buffalo Heart Award, same with Running Back Phillip Lindsay who is Colorado’s first 1,000-yard running back in more than 6 seasons, and same with Jimmie Gilbert who has 10 sacks and leads the Country in forced fumbles with 6. In total, we counted 16 players that see or have seen significant playing time in 2016 that have been at Colorado since 2013.

This season is the first time Colorado is Bowl Eligible since the 2007 season and are looking at a potential Bowl Game pending the outcome of the PAC 12 Championship Game.
