Colorado defeats Texas 68-54 in Legends Classic

Brooklyn, New York - The Colorado Men's Basketball Team is now 4-1 on the season defeating the Texas Longhorns by a score of 68-54 on Tuesday afternoon. Colorado who lost yesterday to Notre Dame 89-83 was led by Derrick White a senior guard who was 7 of 10 from the field and scored a team-high 16 points.

White hit a clutch three late in the game that continued the late game shift for the Buffs. Colorado's George King finished the game with a double/double collecting 13 boards and 12 points in the victory.

Colorado shot 43.9 from the field compared to Texas who shot 36.8 from the field and the difference was on the boards where Colorado out rebounded Texas 43-32. Colorado who was 18 for 19 at the charity stripe against Notre Dame was 80% at the stripe against Texas hitting 4 of 5 free throws. From three-point range, the Buffs were 42.9 percent, each team had 12 turnovers.

Colorado's Bench Play

The Buffs received strong bench play on the day. Sophomore Guard Thomas Akyzaili was 3-4 during the game scoring 6 points, in total the Colorado reserves scored 16 points as opposed to the Texas bench which scored just 7 points.

Next Up

Colorado will take on Wofford back in Boulder on the 27th followed by their annual rivalry game against Colorado State on November 30th.
