Buffs recruiting Rivals150 power forward

San Diego (Calif.) St. Francis power forward Tim Harrison wanted to prove to college recruiters this spring that he has expanded his game. The Rivals150 prospect from the Class of 2016 feels he did exactly that.

"We just finished up with the Memorial Day Classic in L.A. last weekend and I definitely feel like I diversified the way that I score. The spring went really well," said Harrison, who plays with the Gamepoint Elite on the club circuit. "I am looking forward to July now."
When asked which colleges are showing the most interest in him, Harrison listed Stanford, Cal, Princeton, Richmond, Colorado, Colorado State, USC, VCU and Florida. He currently has eight offers, and he plans to apply to Stanford, Princeton and Harvard once he finishes his junior year in June.
"The top academic schools are different, you have to be admitted into the school first before they offer," he explained.
Have the Buffaloes offered Harrison yet?
"Colorado has not offered but they have been to my school and they've expressed a lot of interest and say they have a spot for me," Harrison said. "I really like [Colorado head] coach [Tad] Boyle. I have heard great things about him and I also like their style of play. They have versatile guys like me on their team and they do well with them."
Cal made shock waves last cycle by landing four Rivals150 recruits, including two five-star prospects. The Golden Bears already have a four-star prospect verbally committed for 2016.
"I really like Cal," he said. "They have really gotten some good recruits. I feel like they are on an upward trend and I am really anxious to see how they do this year. I really like [Cal head] coach [Cuonzo] Martin and what he stands for. They've recruited me for about a year-and-a-half so they have been in the picture for a while."
Harrison said he is starting to "get a lot more serious" when it comes to his recruitment. After the July evaluation period, he plans to start cutting down his list and will then take multiple official visits in the fall.
"I hope to make a decision before my senior season of high school," he said. "The schools I am most interested in have a good balance of basketball and academics. I want my degree to mean something when I am done playing basketball. I do think it is going to be a tough decision when it comes down to it but I have been thinking about it, praying about it and when the time comes to make the decision, I'll be sure about it."
Harrison said colleges like his versatility, his energy and his upside. He is viewed as a "combo four."
"Harrison stands 6-foot-8 with good skill," Rivals basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi previously wrote. "He can stretch defenses with his shooting. However, to truly unlock his potential he'll need to use his athleticism and length to his advantage and become more of a force on the glass and around the rim."
