Aaron Maddox was an unknown commodity out of Tuscon (Ariz.) Pima C.C. before Colorado offered him in October.
The JuCo safety has since landed offers from the likes of Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, and N.C. State. The main competition for Colorado was Arkansas, Kentucky, and N.C. State, as he also took official visits to those schools.
His trip to Kentucky was this past weekend, but his time in Boulder the weekend prior put the Buffaloes over the top.
"Everything was beautiful," Maddox said about his Colorado visit. "I’d say the most beautiful campus I’ve ever been to. The facilities were new, organized, and very spacious. They have a theatre in their locker room, which was mind blowing."
Maddox committed to Colorado on Monday, giving the Buffs a much needed addition to the safety spot with the Afolabi Laguda graduating.
Maddox is similar to what Colorado got in last year's class in Kevin George, who was a full-qualifier out of high school, and George was able leave his JuCo after one season and enrolled at Colorado as a true sophomore.
It's the same case for Maddox, who will be leaving Pima in December to enroll at Colorado as a true sophomore in January.
Maddox is commitment No. 17 for the Buffaloes.
EDIT: A couple hours after Maddox's commitment to Colorado, the Buffs landed another pledge, this time from Darrion Jones.
