Alex Tchangam commits: What does it mean for Colorado?

Colorado was in talks with Tchangam before the calendar flipped to 2018 and had him on their radar, but it wasn't until the 6-foot-3, 255-pounder officially visited Colorado when he got his scholarship offer.

The Buffs instantly jumped to the top of his list as the other schools that were after him were either at the FCS/G5 level and his one Power Five offer was from Kansas.

It came down to Kansas and Colorado for Tchangam, and the only question was if Colorado would be able to make room as their scholarship numbers are currently over the 85.

Tchangam announced his commitment on Twitter on Friday morning.

"It was a family decision," Tchangam said. "I talked to my parents over and over, trying to figure out what was the best place for me, and Colorado is the best place for me. I told the Colorado coaching staff [Friday morning], and they were extremely, extremely excited and ready to start working with them."

Tchangam will sign with Colorado on Wednesday but has to wait until the summer to enroll at CU. He will come to Colorado as a junior with a redshirt year available.

Tchangam recorded 51 tackles and eight sacks in 2017.
