1. Who Will Start At Defensive End?

Colorado loses Josh Tupou, Jordan Carrell, and Samson Kafovalu. All three linemen started during the 2016 position in the trenches accumulating 148 total tackles.

It’s obvious that Colorado will have openings at the two defensive end spots as well as at defensive tackle. The favorite in our mind to start at defensive tackle would be early enrollee Javier Edwards at 6-foot-2, 330 pounds, but he, not the only big body Colorado has at the position.

We didn’t hear much from 6-foot-3, 310 pound Eddy Lopez last year, Jase Franke at 6-foot-3, 260 pounds recorded 11 tackles last year, Lyle Tuiloma is 6-foot-3, 305 pounds, and Frank Umu at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds is another name to watch. As for the defensive end positions, get the popcorn ready as this is wide open.

2. Who Will Start At Defensive Tackle?

Watch for Outside Linebacker Derek McCartney to possibly drop down to an end position, the 6-foot-3, 250 pound senior tore his ACL last year, he’s one of the best returning defensive players for Colorado. Leo Jackson II at 6-foot-3, 275 pounds played in 13 games last year,
