Head Colorado Football Coach Mike MacIntyre has been named the PAC 12 Coach of the Year, Walter Camp Coach of the Year, Home Depot Coach of the Year, CBS Coach of the Year, Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, and just days ago was named the AP Coach of the Year.

MacIntyre who has led the No. 10 ranked Colorado Buffaloes to a 10-3 season landing a spot in the Alamo Bowl against No. 13 Oklahoma State has a career record of 20-30 at Colorado since taking over in 2013.

Previous to this season MacIntyre had a career PAC 12 Conference Record of 2-25, this year the Buffs were 8-1 and were PAC 12 South Champs and it was the first time since the 2001 season that Colorado won 10 games in a single season.

Endless accolades for MacIntyre and rightfully so. He's truly brought Colorado Football back into the National Spotlight.

Currently, MacIntyre is the lowest paid Head Football Coach in the PAC 12 making $2,011,050 per year according to USA Today. Stanford's David Shaw makes the most in the PAC 12 Conference earning $4,067,219 per year, which is 19th highest in the Nation.

MacIntyre has earned a raise, but how much will Colorado's Athletic Department put on the table to keep him in Boulder?

2013 Contract Details

Colorado last presented MacIntyre with a 5-year deal that started on January 1st, 2013 and extended through December 31st, 2017. His last contract year will start on January 1st, 2017. Anytime before December 31st of 2017, his current contract states that MacIntrye and the Athletic Director of Colorado could meet to discuss extending the term of the Agreement for another year. If an extension is made, it must be approved by the Chancellor of the Univesity of Colorado and the Board of Regents of the University.

The pay presented to MacIntyre in 2013 was a base pay of $250,000 per year and a Supplemental Salary of $875,000 per year, totaling $2,125,000 through 5-years.

Additional Salary Related to Competitive Success (He's earned a few more this year)

200K if the football team plays in a non-BCS Bowl Game (check)

100K if the football team plays in the Conference Championship Game (Check)

250K if the football team plays in a Bowl Championship Series Game

750K if the football team is National Champs

50K if the team wins 7 Games (Check)

25K if the team wins 8 Games (Check)

25K if MacIntyre is selected PAC 12 Coach of the Year (Check)

Incentive Salary related to competitive success will be cumulative and should be due in a lump sum within 30-days after the conclusion of the postseason.

I think a 5 yr deal helps recruiting but that's a big commitment. Maybe $13 mil over 5 yrs with bonus money up to $3 mil a year.
