Bryce Peters still suspended indefinitely from Colorado Basketball

BOULDER-- For the second time, this season a Colorado Men's Basketball player has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Xavier Johnson and Wesley Gordon were suspended during the bay area road trip and didn't play in the Cal game, their suspension continued at home when they sat the bench during Washington. Now following in his peer's footsteps Freshman Bryce Peters was also suspended during a road trip.

This is the third time that Peters has gotten in trouble this season and is fourth game he has missed and that could continue to grow as the Buffs only have three more regular season games left.

After it was announced the first time that Peters wouldn't play the first two games of the season people began to question his dedication to the team, he slowly started to turn that around and became an essential part of this team coming off the bench.

Depending on how bad Peters discipline will be he could sit the rest of the games at home, while in Oregon in was Peters birthday the day before the Oregon game so that could have something to do with the violation of team rules but right now that's all we know about the situation.

Yesterday after practice Coach Boyle said, "you can ask me every day about it and it will still be indefinite until you hear from me further." Boyle has shown this season that he isn't messing around when it comes to violation of team rules and he will let you sit until you apologize to the team.

So what does this mean for the team going forward?

Well, there has been speculation that Peters will be released from the team after the season because this his third strike but Coach Boyle seems to believe in Peters and has seen improvement from him throughout the season.

Was this just a lapse of judgment from Peters or did he willing do it knowing there would be consequences, we may never know but for now we won't know what went into his decision or if he is finally ready to fix it. Peters doesn't have the greatest influences above him either, but this team is slowly on a downward spiral and clearly there needs to be a change in discipline on this team moving forward.

Also, Colorado loses a big player that comes off their bench, Peters brings energy every single game on offensive and defensive and that blatantly showed in the Oregon game when he sat on the end the bench wearing sweatpants and hoodie.

Colorado has three home games left (Utah, Stanford, and Cal) and although Colorado plays well at the Coors Event Center not having Peters could be crucial to their success.
