The Perfect Class

No school, even the likes of Alabama and Clemson, can land 100% of their top targets. But what if Colorado was able to do that with their 2018 football recruiting class?

In this article, CUSportsNation.com breaks down what a "perfect class" would look like for the Buffaloes. Could we have picked all four and five stars for this article? Sure, but instead of being completely unrealistic, we picked top targets that are realistic options - regardless of their ranking.

Keep in mind, this isn't a complete list of prospects that Colorado is involved with.

*We combined the current commits with the top targets for this story.

Quarterback - 1

Rundown: With Blake Stenstrom's early commitment, the Buffs are done at quarterback. The Colorado coaches are confident in his abilities, but for the rest of the country, he's an unknown as he did not start as Valor's QB. Other schools are expressing interest and wanting to see him this spring, but Stenstrom insists that he is solid with Colorado.

Running Back - 2

Rundown: Colorado's backfield takes a hit with Phillip Lindsay graduating after this season. CU is locked in with Max Borghi as their high school running back commit, and Kevon Abrams is a guy we like as a junior college running back option to provide immediate depth.

Borghi is firm in his CU commitment but other Pac-12 schools are still offering him. The Buffs shouldn't have much problem holding on to Borghi's pledge.

Abrams has a similar build to Lindsay and would be a good get for CU. He has two years of eligibility with no redshirt year available.

Wide Receiver - 2

Rundown: The Buffs offered Solomon Enis a week ago, and he has expressed interest in visiting Boulder. He will be a very tough get for the Colorado staff. Enis is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Arizona.

Dimitri Stanley's recruitment has heated up of late with new offers from Nebraska and Indiana. The Huskers are Colorado's biggest competition for Stanley, and he recently visited there. He also took a visit to Iowa State.

The CU coaching staff told Stanley during one of his recent visits that they're recruiting him as an athlete now - not just as a wide receiver. That was music to Stanley's ears. Stanley's father spent time playing for the Buffs early in his career and had a career in the NFL.
