Three things we know: Colorado vs Arizona State
1 - Colorado will pound the rock
Phillip Lindsay is No. 3 in the nation in rushing yards and No. 1 rushing attempts. It's safe to say that Lindsay will continue to see his fair share of carries. Lindsay carried the ball 41 times vs Arizona, 28 vs Oregon State, 29 vs Washington State, and 33 vs Cal. I don't see any reason why this high volume of carries will slow down. Arizona State ranks No. 10 in the Pac-12 in rushing defense. Sounds like a recipe for success to me.
2 - Buffs need big plays through the air
A key to Colorado's passing attack is connecting on the home run ball, and we saw that last week against Cal. When Colorado gets the run game going, it allows Fields and Bobo to get in favorable one-on-one matchups. Here's an interesting stat: guess who leads Colorado in receptions of 20+ yards? It's Devin Ross with 9. Ross isn't a home run hitter like Fields, but even his catch and run plays - as well as receptions in the intermediate passing game - result in big plays for the Buffaloes.
3 - Stopping Harry is key
Arizona State has one of the better passing attacks in the Pac-12, ranking No. 5 in the conference. The man that has received 34% of Manny Wilkins passing yardage this season will need to be keyed on, and that's N'Keal Harry, who ranks No. 2 in the conference in receiving yards per game. The health of Isaiah Oliver is very important and he should be able to play.
