Tedric Thompson earns PAC 12 Defensive Player of the Week Award

Colorado continues to impress on the field and with their season victories come weekly awards. In fact, this is the fifth time this season a Colorado Football Player has earned either an offensive or defensive Player or special teams Player of the Week Award.

Today, the PAC 12 Announced that Senior Safety Tedric Thompson was named the PAC 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against Stanford. In the Buffs 10-5 victory over the Cardinal, Thompson recorded two interceptions, one which he returned for 30-yards. On the season Thompson has 4 interceptions which is tied for first overall in the PAC 12.

Last week in Colorado's 40-16 win over Arizona State Junior Running Back Phillip Lindsay was named PAC 12 Offensive Player of the Week. Lindsay who had not hit the 100-yard mark this season, ran wild for 219-yards and 3 touchdowns and is currently leading the entire PAC 12 in rushing yards as well as in touchdowns.

Freshman kicker Davis Price was named the Week 5 PAC 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after drilling a 54 yard field goal against Oregon State. The 54-yard field kick is the longest field goal made by a freshman in Colorado school history.

Steven Montez was named the PAC 12 Offensive Player of the Week on September 26th following his performance against Oregon. The RS-Freshman starting in place of Sefo Liufau racked up an incredible 468-yards of total offense. Leading Colorado to a thrilling 41-38 victory over Oregon in Autzen Stadium, Liufau was 23-32 passing for 333-yards with 3 touchdowns and also rushed for 135-yards with a score on the ground.

Senior Quarterback Sefo Liufau was named PAC 12 Offensive Player of the Week on September 5th in the Buffs 44-7 blowout against Colorado State. In the season opener against their in-state rival Liufau was 23 of 33 passing for 318-yards and 1 touchdowns. He finished the game with a 160.6 passing rating and earned 17 total first downs.
