Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln defensive tackle Jayden Simon officially visited Colorado over the weekend, and the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder left Boulder as the Buffs' newest football commitment.

"I've been talking to the coaches, and they seem like really cool guys," Simon said. "Everybody there has a belief in Coach Tucker. I got down there, and my family really liked the coaches a lot. I thought it was a good spot for me."

On the weekend of January 20, Simon officially visited Montana State. It seemed that he would end up playing for the Bobcats, but that was obviously before Colorado threw their hat in the ring.

The Buffs offered Simon a scholarship while he was on campus, and Simon committed on the spot.

"I'm definitely going to bring some excitement," Simon added. "I think I'm an exciting player to watch. I have a little swagger in me."

We know that Simon is expected to come in as a defensive lineman for the Buffs, but the position he'll play for Jimmy Brumbaugh is unknown at this point.

"They said I'm a combo D-lineman. I can play multiple positions," Simon explained. "They'll switch me around. They said they're not scared to play young guys, so if you're ready, they'll play you. That's what I liked to hear."

According to Simon, his talents remind Coach Brumbaugh, a former collegiate defensive lineman for Auburn, of himself as a young player.

"He said he's going to come to my basketball game this week, so I'll try to put on a show for him," Simon said.

As a senior, Simon recorded 54 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble.
